Belmopan After School Experience (BASE)

The Belize Natural Energy Charitable Trust partnered with the Belmopan Lions Club located in the capital city of Belmopan to construct a computer laboratory that will house an after-school program for primary and high school students. The purpose of the program is to provide a safe and learning environment for school-age children to spend their time after school hours in a productive manner. The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the formation of responsible citizens.

Students have access to laptops and wi-fi, assistance with homework, receive tutoring on specific subjects as well as mentorship. The Program, which commenced in September 2023 at the start of the new school year, can accommodate 35 students.

The BNE Charitable Trust is one of several partners that contributed to the construction of the computer laboratory with grant funding of $38,600.
